The Doe Network is a nonprofit, 100% volunteer organization dedicated to assisting investigating agencies with national and international cold cases involving missing and unidentified persons. Our mission is to give the nameless back their names, help find the missing, and bring answers to families who have waited too long.
We advocate by keeping missing and unidentified persons visible. We collaborate by bringing together volunteers, investigating agencies, families, and the public in the search for answers. And through careful research and credible potential matches, we work toward the goal that drives everything we do: bringing them home.
We pursue our mission in three primary ways:
- Bring attention to cases by maintaining and sharing detailed profiles of missing and unidentified persons.
- Develop potential matches between missing and unidentified persons and submit credible comparisons to the appropriate investigating agencies.
- Increase public awareness by encouraging meaningful media exposure for cases that might otherwise be forgotten.
Behind every case is a person, a family, and unanswered questions. Our volunteers contribute their individual skills, knowledge, and research to a shared effort to help investigating agencies find answers. The Doe Network supports, but does not replace, the work of law enforcement, coroners, medical examiners, and other investigating authorities.

This usually means that the person is no longer unidentified or missing.
